Further, I worked to co-create a space on the WEX intranet for interns to connect and share their accomplishments with the larger WEX community. Finally, I collaborated with a larger team of interns on The WEXtern Journal, a newsletter shared bi-weekly with the WEX community.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society │Student of the Year Candidate & Leadership Team Member
In 2020, I signed up to save lives with the Lowcountry’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). After recruiting a multigenerational team to collaborate with, I spent six weeks raising funds and awareness of the impacts of blood cancer. My team and I worked hard on creating the perfect pitch for our fundraising goals, soliciting sponsorships from local business leaders. I’m extremely proud of my team for raising over $20,000 to put towards a meaningful cause.
After competing in the 2020 Student of Year competition, I decided to join the student leadership team with LLS. I was given the privilege of working with new candidates, helping them develop their fundraising programs. It was so meaningful to continue to see this competition flourish, and to play a small part in helping LLS raise millions each year in the fight against blood cancer.
American Red Cross │ Program Leader
During this role, I coordinated with the American Red Cross to organize blood drives at my high school. I also arranged student activities and responsibilities to ensure successful events. Donating blood is a selfless way to show your support to someone you may never even meet. As an American Red Cross Program Leader, I had the fulfilling opportunity to coordinate blood drive events and see real change being made.
Mock Trial, Charleston County School of the Arts │Co-President
As co-president of my high school’s Mock Trial, I helped lead our team from a start-up club to a successful competing team in the South Carolina State Competition. My responsibilities included recruiting team members, organizing meetings and practice sessions, and leading planning for competitions. I received multiple awards selected by my peers and judges, including being a five-time recipient of the South Carolina Mock Trial Most Effective Attorney award. Our team was also collectively awarded the 2021 State Professionalism and Civility Award for Mock Trial.
Alloy│General Body Member
Alloy is Emory University’s student-led campus literary and arts magazine. As a general body member, I attend meetings to evaluate undergraduate work for publication. It’s inspiring to be able to see and discuss the work of my peers, and I’m grateful to play a part in contributing to Emory’s creative community.
